The Hip-Hop Theater Festival, founded in 2000, presents artists working in a variety of theatrical forms--including theater, dance, spoken word and live music sampling at the Ohio Theater in SoHo. The festival also addresses socio-political issues relevant to the hip-hop generation. Upcoming events include The Word Begins, a play about race relations, religion, sexuality, love and the power of mass communication.
