The New York Times

As the Whitney Museum relocates to its planned new home in the Meatpacking district in 2015, its uptown neighbor will take over the landmark Breuer building on Madison and 75th Street. Planning to use the space to showcase its modern and contemporary art, the Met will take advantage of the opportunity to create an outpost for art from around the globe. The new space is expected to quell criticism of the Met's modern art holdings and provide space to display more of its collection.
