Revenue Options for Future 9/11 Memorial & Museum

Methods to financially support the building and maintenance of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum were reported on in the media this past week. The foundation's president and CEO, Joseph C. The Daily News describes the 2011 September 11 National Medal that was unveiled on Monday, June 20, by the US Mint. Ten dollars from each $56.95 coin sold will go to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum foundation, which can already count on proceeds from 12,000 orders placed during the first 90 minutes of the medal's sale. The Wall Street Journal reported last week on Joseph C. Daniels' testimony to the New York City Council regarding a potential entrance fee to the museum of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, slated to open in September 2012. The fee would finance both the museum and the upkeep of the memorial, which opens in September 2011 and will be free to access. For the full article, click here.
