MTA May Evict a Theater Group

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority will begin eviction proceedings on Monday against one of the city's most prestigious experimental-theater companies unless more than $306,000 the MTA says it's owed in back rent and interest is paid.
The MTA notified the group, 3-Legged Dog, of the impending eviction from 80 Greenwich St. on Friday, the group said. Both sides said they have been attempting to work out an agreement during the past year.
3-Legged Dog is known for mounting multimedia installations and performances by writers such as Charles Mee. It signed a 20-year lease for 80 Greenwich in 2002 after its headquarters at 30 West Broadway were destroyed in the September 11 terrorist attacks.
3-Legged Dog is enlisting lawmakers to aid efforts to retain its Lower Manhattan home. For the full article, click here
