Culture, Rolling Into Towns on Big Rigs
The New York Times
Since trucks are America's transports of choice, painter Eric Fischl is betting that he can use six 18-wheelers full of art to connect citizens with each other and to new ideas through art. The truck fleet will carry art fresh from painters' studios; from poets', playwrights' and songwriters' pens; and from filmmakers' cameras. The mission of the project is to help Americans through the polarizing cultural identity crisis and to foster a sense of the country's place and direction in the world.
