The Alliance is a pioneer in research on the cultural community in the city, state and region. Our groundbreaking economic impact studies going back to 1983 prove that the arts are a vital industry in New York, an economic engine which strengthens and supports other industries, such as tourism and the commercial arts. Our research is used every day by cultural leaders, funders and policy makers--and it is the foundation of our advocacy work.
