The sixth Arts Forum will be presented at The TimesCenter on Monday, March 7 at 5 pm. The topic, Cultural Diplomacy: Engaging a Changing World, will be discussed by Maura M. Pally, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Professional and Cultural Exchanges at the US Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (this is a change to the State Department's original speaker, Marjorie A. Ames, division chief, Cultural Programs); Margaret Ayers, President, Robert Sterling Clark Foundation; Vishakha Desai, President, Asia Society; and Anne Pasternak, President, Creative Time.
New York cultural groups are currently partnering with the U.S. Department of State on several cultural programs, including the Carnegie Hall Cultural Exchange; DanceMotion USA, with Brooklyn Academy of Music; smART Power, with Bronx Museum of the Arts; and The Rhythm Road: American Musicians Abroad, with Jazz at Lincoln Center.
