Nine individuals--including sculptor Mark di Suvero, jazz musician Sonny Rollins and theater impresario Robert Brustein---and Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival received the National Medal of Arts for their outstanding achievements and support of the arts. President Barack Obama presented the medals in an East Room ceremony at the White House on March 2. The National Medal of Arts is a White House initiative managed by the National Endowment for the Arts. For more information, click here.
