THE CANDIDATES ON THE ARTS: In Their Own Words

The Alliance for the Arts has published statements on City cultural policy from candidates in the fall elections covering funding for the arts and the role of culture in public education and economic development. Widespread support for increasing the Cultural Affairs budget is reflected in responses from the candidates for citywide office as well as a spectrum of City Council candidates. The Candidates on the Arts features responses from six candidates for Mayor, four candidates for Public Advocate, one candidate for Comptroller, 12 candidates for Borough President slots, and 38 candidates for City Council.
