Blogs and Social Media: Management Versus Artists

Two conflicts of interest in social media usage by management and artists were reported today, March 15, 2011. The Detroit Symphony Orchestra's union contract disputes, as it becomes increasingly public in Facebook fan pages, is the subject of "Symphony Discord Plays Out In Facebook Fracas," reported by Jennifer Guerra of National Public Radio; the New York City Ballet is negotiating social-media policy as part of contract talks with its dancers' union, the American Guild of Musical Artists, as reported in "City Ballet A-Twitter Over Posts," by Erica Orden in the Wall Street Journal.
