As New York's Chamber of Commerce for the Arts, the Alliance for the Arts is doing its best to support the cultural community in this time of economic uncertainty. The arts are not just another needy sector, but an engine of recovery. The Alliance is at the center of this recovery; it has increased its advocacy and research to drive funding and policy development and to help nonprofit cultural groups understand and cope with the challenges before them.
You can see our work at NYC-ARTS.org and NYCkidsARTS.org.
Already lean and efficient, in response to the economic downturn the Alliance has cut its budget to the bone and imposed a hiring freeze. We hope that you will make a contribution to help sustain the Alliance and its core programs which we have protected--and by extension every cultural group in the city.
We welcome contributions both small and large. Here are three ways your support can help:
- $100 would put 300 copies of the NYCkidsARTS guide to arts education in branch libraries;
- $500 would add a new cultural group and its programs and events to NYC-ARTS.org, promoting public access and building new audiences;
- $1,000 would produce a survey assessing the needs and opportunities of the cultural field.
Please help the Alliance help the Arts rebuild New York.
