National Arts Index Reports 12-Year Low in 2009

Americans for the Arts has announced its first update to its National Arts Index, an annual measure of the vitality of the arts industries in the U.S. The 2010 Index shows the vitality of the arts sector reached a 12-year low in 2009, but that the number of arts organizations is increasing and the demand for arts education is up. The report, as well as details about all 81 indicators, is available for download.
