Since opening in Lower Manhattan in August 2009, half a million people have visited the 9/11 Memorial Preview Site, according to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. Approximately 75 percent of visitors are believed to be international tourists. The site, located at 20 Vesey Street, contains information on the September 11 Memorial & Museum, which is scheduled to open in September 2011.

The High Line, the new park converted from an elevated freight line on Manhattan's West Side, announced it has had 2 million visitors since opening in June 2009. The High Line can be entered at five locations between Gansevoort Street and West 20th Street.
