DEPARTMENT OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS MOVES TO CIVIC CENTER
The Department of Cultural Affairs has moved to its new home in the Surrogate's Courthouse at 31 Chambers Street. The magnificent Beaux Arts building, designed by John R. Thomas, opened in 1907. It is located across the street from City Hall Park on Chambers Street between Centre and Elk Streets. DCA's new contact information is:

STUDENT DISCOUNTS NOW ON NYC ARTS

The Alliance has launched a new service for the half million college and graduate students in the city. This new feature on www.nyc-arts.org, lists hundreds of student discounts in New York City, including opportunities for free tickets, special memberships or subscriptions and special programming for college-age students. FOURTH ANNUAL OPENHOUSENEWYORK OCT 7-8
America's largest architecture and design event, and a program partner of the Alliance, this year's openhousenewyork, takes place the weekend of October 7-8. Over 150 interesting architecture and design sites throughout the five boroughs will be open and free to the public, many of which are only accessible during this weekend. OHNY also has walking tours, talks by architects, and special programs for kids year-round. More information at www.ohny.org.


CULTUREFEST 2006 OCT 14-15

For the weekend of October 14, NYC & Company is sponsoring its sixth annual free festival of arts in the park at Battery Park (at State Street & Battery Place). The city's largest outdoor cultural event of the fall, Culturefest features performances, exhibits and information about more than 115 cultural organizations in the city.
