Klaus Biesenbach has been appointed the new director of P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center, effective January 2010. He is currently chief curator of media and performance at the Museum of Modern Art and an adviser to P.S. 1. Biesenbach replaces Alanna Heiss, who founded P.S. 1 in 1976 and retired in 2008.
Cynthia Elliott has been named chief exective and president of Symphony Space, effective July 2010. She was previously executive director.
