Proposal for Less Funding for Federal Arts Agencies

President Barack H. Obama has proposed funding reductions for three arts agencies: the budgets of the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities would each decrease from $167.5 to $161.3 million; the budget for the Institute of Museum and Library Services would decrease from $282.2 to $265.5 million. The proposal for the Smithsonian calls for an increase of $36.2 million, to $797.6 million in fiscal 2011. For more information, click here.
